This is the home page of the first edition of the international contest on Graph Matching Algorithms for Pattern Search in Biological Databases, that will be hosted by the ICPR 2014 Conference to be held in Stockholm on August 24-28, 2014.

A selection of the best methods presented at the contest will published
on a Special Issue of the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology
and Bioinformatics, that will be issued around June/July 2015.

The aim of this contest is to assess the state-of-the-art about graph matching algorithms suitable for bioinformatics graphs, using both exact and inexact approaches. The participants will be evaluated considering the time and space requirements of the algorithms, and, for the inexact ones, the accuracy of the found solutions.

This contest is supported by the Technical Committee TC15 of IAPR on Graph Based Representation in Pattern Recognition.

Benchmarking of graph-related algorithms has been a major topic of interest for TC15 since its inception; TC15 has been maintaining since 10 years a web page devoted to benchmarking with several graph databases. Thus TC15 will fully endorse this initiative; moreover, the new graph database used for this contest will be added to the TC15 Web site and a link to the article summing up the results of this contest will also be added to the TC15 Web site (within the limitations of the eventual copyrights).

Contest participants that are willing to submit a paper with full description of the proposed method, must do so using the normal ICPR submission procedure. Please note that the ICPR submission deadline is December 20, 2013.
